Do you ever have those days that could go on forever and somehow you don’t think you could ever be bored of it? That’s what it was like from start to finish with this session. The day started at my home with Krystin, Noelani (an aspiring photographer herself), Summer, and Noel. While I was doing Krystin’s makeup and getting her fully prepped for our shoot, we all shared laughter and gossip. It was the first time many of us had been around each other since quarantine. We left from here in Fayetteville to go to Raven Rock State Park, which is about a 30 min or so drive outside of Fayetteville.
The park itself is brilliant...and I do mean truly amazing. It’s like stepping into another world with mild hiking trails that lead to area that literally look as though they belong in a mountain side. This is one of those wild ideas I’ve had brewing for a long time waiting for the right client to latch on to it and be willing to make the relatively short hike down to the expanse of rock and river, the Cape Fear River specifically. I do not think I have felt that magical zing of a shoot since Heather’s Maternity shoot way back when I first got back into photography. Guys...I think the pictures speak for themselves...but they will never fully capture the laughter and joy we had throughout the day. I’m so happy I had this amazing group of women with me during the shoot, and I think we all had that same sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when it was all said and done. :)
